Our Partners and Supporters

We are very grateful for all of the support and assistance provided by our members, our sponsors, our supporters and all of the other people who help us to help others to help the environment.

We have long-established and valuable working relationships with organisations such as the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Environment Agency, SAVE Britain’s Heritage, Ecology Building Society, The MJ, etc.

OUR TREE-PLANTING PARTNER

Sustainably Run is an innovative organisation that plants millions of trees around the world to help the environment. Originally they engaged with the United Nations Billion Tree campaign, and they now work with numerous other partners to fund and plant trees where they will do most good.

We, The Green Organisation, chose them as our partners to plant trees on behalf of our members and award winners, and to offset the carbon footprint created by our various events.  Most of the trees are planted in emerging nations or in areas recovering from environmental disasters – but they do much more than simply absorb CO2 and produce oxygen.

Many of the plantings are fruit and nut trees and they are largely given to impoverished communities where they provide food, fuel, shelter, shade, and timber for building, furniture, etc.  Their root systems prevent desertification, improve soil quality and reduce flood risk.  Their foliage provides habitat for wildlife, which in turn improves and increases the food chain.

Communities are taught how to tend the trees, which then have the potential for farming and other commercial opportunities.

They are also taught how to propagate, so that one tree can become dozens of trees; dozens – hundreds; hundreds – thousands…

It truly is the gift that keeps on giving – as well as helping to save the environment.
