GREEN APPLE AWARDS 2009 FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGEOn the 29th of June 2009 the ninth International Green Apple Awards for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage took place at Hampton Court Palace.
In a glittering ceremony star of stage and screen, author and keen environmentalist Kate O’Mara presented the awards.
The event, organised by The Green Organisation, was attended by almost 200 guests making it a very successful and memorable day out for the people who worked so hard on these winning buildings and structures.

The International Green Apple Awards for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage were launched in 2000 and they have since become a prestigious annual event: one of the major award schemes recognising and rewarding environmental endeavour in this sector around the world.
There is no entry fee and nominations are invited from anyone who has made a positive contribution to our built environment, or helped to preserve the country's architectural heritage - owners, building contractors, local authorities, developers, architects, home builders, etc., etc.
